If shopping for food is your thing, you’re in the right place. Weaver Street Market features a spectacular array of locally grown, fresh and organic foods. Consider Glasshalfull Restaurant & Wine Bar owners Mickey and Jim as your own personal sommeliers – they will help you pick out the perfect bottle of wine at any price point. And speaking of beverages, no trip to Carrboro is complete without a stop in the Carrboro Beverage Company, a shop filled with weird and wonderful beers, sodas and yes, more scrumptious wine.


For Craft Lovers

Good news, craft lovers, Carrboro has a cornucopia of craft shops. Start with a visit to the best kept secret in town, the Clay Centre Gallery where locals throw pots and put their creations on display and for sale. Then hop on over to Seagrove Pottery, featuring a wide selection of wonderful pottery from neighboring historic Seagrove. When you're ready for a treat, visit with a trip to the must-see North Carolina Crafts Gallery, featuring crafts of all kinds made right here in our great State. And then, when you need something amazing framed hop on over to our very own personal frame shop at The Framers Corner where they know how to frame everything from a poster to a piece of pottery.


For Art Lovers

There’s nothing finer than finding the time for a class at The ArtsCenter, a regionally famous nexus for all types of art, from performance to art on paper. No time for a class? You can browse the ArtsCenter gallery and the directly across the street, visit the world famous Jesse Kalisher Gallery. Jesse’s B&W photography is the permanent collection of the Louvre and museums across America – and his flagship gallery is right here in Carrboro.


For Comedy, Music, Beverages for Night Life Lovers

DSI Comedy is an internationally famous improv comedy club and home to the nation’s largest comedy festival – and its right here in Carrboro! There are shows every weekend, guaranteed to make you laugh. And classes too, if you have the time. And if you want to make a night of it, try any of the 100+ beers at Milltown or the 30+ beers on tap at Tyler’s. There's more beer, wine and coffee at Open Eye Cafe or Jesse's Coffee and Bar. Try the wine and full bar at Glasshalfull Restaurant & Wine Bar. And live music and shows at The ArtsCenter. Wherever you turn, this town is alive at night.


For Families

Start off with the free music series at the Weaver Street Lawn which is always 100% kid friendly and then turn to the ArtsCenter for classes, summer programs and kid-friendly concerts by Grammy Award Winning musicians. Just walk through town and count the strollers and you’ll know, this is a town that loves kids. Moms, you might leave the kids with Dad to stroll around town while you get your hair done at The Beehive Salon , where personal service is always on tap and professional creativity goes as far (or as not) as you want it to.


For Outdoorsy Folks

There’s plenty of hiking and jogging trails in the area. And there’s no better place to get a fix on which hiking trails to hit than at Townsend Bertram and Company – our very own locally grown outdoor outfitters. Here, the folks can set you up with everything from a BPA-free water bottle and directions to the nearest trail head to a backpack, tent and sleeping bag for your next attempt at Mt. Everest. Joggers, head next door to Fleet Feet Sports of Carrboro. Carrboro is the national HQ for Fleet Feet and there's no better place to get fitted for running shoes, or to simply find out where to run around town.


For Clothes Hounds

Roulette Vintage is a vintage and local clothing store with a reputation that stretches from Carrboro all the way to Brooklyn, NY and Los Angeles, CA. If Vintage and/or locally made clothing is your thing, then you’ve found your corner of heaven. And if you’re into jewelry, you might also visit the NC Crafts Gallery that features popular jewelry made by local artists.
